Model Sacked by Agent Because Her Hips were TOO BIG & Guess WHAT Happened? [PHOTOS]

A MODEL dropped by her first agent for being TOO BIG has had the last laugh after taking the lingerie world by storm.

Iskra Lawrence is perhaps the most recognisable face of Aerie - Teen retailer American Eagle’s lingerie brand and Victoria Secret’s main rival.

By embracing her curvaceous body with the use of un-airbrushed images, the 27-year-old has inspired thousands of women and earned a strong following on Instagram.

So much so Ms Lawrence, from Worcestershire, is now the official brand representative of the company.

But it hasn’t always been plain sailing for the 27-year-old who champions body positivity and acceptance.

She was dropped from her first agency because her hips were too big.

The 5ft 9in model said: “I was about 15 or16 and they just said to me ‘Your [hips are] 36 inches - they need to be 34 at this age. They're too big.'

“That's just destroying."

Shockingly Ms Lawrence had visited plus size agencies who said she wasn’t big enough.

Ms Lawrence got into modelling at the age of 13 when her mother entered her into an Elle Girl contest.

Before that she was a swimmer, which helped her good relationship with food.

But Ms Lawrence only shot to fame after she posted a snap of her posing in a tiny orange bikini online - complete with stretch marks.

She captioned it: “Oh hey there. Yes this is clearly a booty pic but do you see why?

“Because I haven’t airbrushed my tiger stripe stretch marks or my cellulite lightening bolts or my back fat - because this is my body.”

Ms Lawrence now aims to eat healthily and exercises for two hours, three times a week.

She says she is the proud face of Aerie because images are left unretouched.

The model says she regularly poses for bikini selfies, not to look sexy, but to show “bodies”.

Ms Lawrence went on: “There’s a direct correlation between media and how we feel about our bodies.

“I’m just trying to show bodies - we need to see bodies.

“There's nothing wrong with that. These young girls, they just want to see someone normal. I'm very normal."

The model has since become a role mode for young girls and receives regular feedback from her fans and even their parents.

She said: “That’s why now I feel such a responsibility.

Ms Lawrence said her ultimate aim is to empower woman and “leave a lasting impression and legacy”.

Aerie’s global brand president, Jennifer Foyle, said she was “thrilled to bring her to the forefront of our campaigns”.

She added: Aerie is about embracing and celebrating the real you; Iskra embodies our mantra of challenging conventional standards through her unique beauty and vibrant personality.

“We are thrilled to bring her to the forefront of our campaigns."
